Wheel Horse imported the 19.9 HP model D250 from Germany's Gutbrod in 1976 and again in 78 and 79. As you know, the tractor featured a unique Renault 4cyl engine and a Gutbrod 10 speed tranmission and was 20 years ahead of its time. Sales were slow for the $5000 tractor in the 70's, and only 2000 ever made it stateside. Many sat unsold until the 80's. This makes the tractor somewhat rare for its age.i have a wheel horse d250 and have researched for many years picking up bits of information here and there i found a forign parts auto center that dealt parts for the renault 4 cyl engines but later went out of business so again i had no source of engine parts until i stopped at a forign parts dealer that i neven knew was so close and they had most parts for the renault engines so i now can get parts for the renault on my d250 again if you need any parts for the renaut engine you can e mail me at armyguynj_1991@yahoo.com and title it d250 and i will try to help you out
