We just purchased a 1976 wheel horse d-250 in january of 06 for 700 dollars. The hour meter says 328 hours but its replaced. The engine doesn't make any wierd sounds nor smokes. It came with a mower deck. We were able to find hood latches cheap! and picked up a set of perfect fenders (not faded). We replaced a headlight lens (wheel horse still has them), our seat bucket was rusted out and made a nice swap with a Tractor Supply seat (keeping the original brackets). Got out some wiring gremlens everything works now. Tractor runs great! We added a fram oil filter where there is a blockoff plate under the distributor (adds life to the engine). The driveshaft was never greased so we're working on that.Restoration specilaties carries parts like screws, running board rubber, and RED hood lining. We're going to repaint the hood, running boards and wheels. The high and low are a little fidgety. We also have a suburban 401, rj58, a 652 (we modified a 702 and put a clinton 412 6.5 hp engine), and we're going to sell a 702 and 655 mechanicily restored (new tranny bearings and seals repainted wheels and running) see you at the wheel horse show in june paul and charlie pitcher
